Tag: The Unique Blogger Award

Two of my very favorite bloggers were kind enough to nominate me for The Unique Blogger Award and I am honestly so touched that they thought of me.

Thank you so much to:

Sara @ The Bibliophagist. Sara was one of the first bloggers I followed on here and I really admire her. She’s such a kind-hearted person and a hard worker. I always look forward to her posts because they’re very enjoyable and I can tell she puts so much effort in to each one.

Kat @ The Perks of Being a Daydreamer. Kat is incredibly sweet and never fails to make my day. She seriously has the best book recommendations and I love to hear her opinions on them. I always enjoy talking to Kat and reading her posts; she’s so genuine and an outstanding blogger.

I decided I’d combine Sara and Kat’s questions here instead of doing two separate posts. And please check out their blogs out if you get the chance! They’re both such wonderful people and bloggers!! ❤️

  • Display the award!
  • Thank the person who nominated you, and post a link to their blog on your blog.
  • Answer the questions they’ve written for you!
  • Nominate 8-13 bloggers and give them three questions in the spirit of sharing love and solidarity within our blogging family!

Sara’s Questions:

What’s the last book you recommended to someone?

I don’t know for sure, but I think the last book I recommended was Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. I’m just guessing here, but I’m pretty certain that’s it because I recommend this book no less than 10 million times a day.

What was your favorite book when you were a kid?

One (or more like all) of the Harry Potter books. The one I adored the most as a kid was Chamber of Secrets, but that entire series is one big childhood favorite. Besides that, some other honorable mentions would be The Tale of Deseperaux and A Wrinkle in Time.

What’s a book you have an unpopular opinion about?

I know a lot of people loved this book, but I thought All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven mishandled the topic of mental illness. In her author’s note, Niven blatantly said that she “wanted to write something edgy” and this actually nauseated me as a person who’s suffered with clinical depression/anxiety. Mental illness is not a quirk, it’s not cute, and it shouldn’t be used for an “edgy” plot-line. I just found this book so problematic.

Kat’s Questions:

What is your favorite part about blogging?

Not to be cheesy, but YOU GUYS are my favorite part about blogging. I don’t know how I got so lucky to have found such a wonderful and supportive corner of the Internet. Honestly, I’ve never been able to be this open about myself and my adoration for reading until I joined here. Thank you guys for always being the best!!

What is your go to hobby (other than reading and blogging?)

Watching movies! I’ve always loved movies, but in high school, I took a Creative Writing class and we did a unit about cinematography and screenwriting. I found it incredibly interesting, and since then, watching movies has become my favorite hobby besides reading/blogging.

Who is your favorite book villain and why?

I’m going to be basic here, but I’ve gotta go with Voldemort from Harry Potter. His entire backstory was fascinating to me. Actually, some of my personal favorite parts of the series were the flashbacks of his path to becoming a villain. I thought his character was twisted, interesting, and really well done.

Thank you again to Sara and Kat for being super great and nominating me for this! I had tons of fun answering these questions.

My Nominations:

Sarah @ Thoughts of the Reader  | Tiffany @ Read by Tiffany Chloe @ The Elven Warrior Kaya @ A Fictional Bookworm Iris @ Hoard of Books Brittany @ Brittany and Her Bookshelf Erin @ Pages of Milk and Honey Rose @ Stuck in Fiction Laura @ The Girl With All The Books Paige @ Bookish Paige Sissi @ The Book World

You each deserve this award, but of course: no pressure to do the tag if you already have or don’t want to. 🙂

My Questions:

1. What are three of your all time favorite books?

2. Do you prefer e-books or physical copies?

3. If you could meet one author, who would you choose and why?

And just a quick note: if you’ve tagged me in something lately and I haven’t done it yet, I promise I’m not ignoring you. I appreciate it so much. I’ve just been trying to catch up on some things, but I want to start getting to these tags. Thank you for understanding!!

Alright, that’s all for now. Hope you guys are having a good week❤️

    1. You’re very welcome❤️ And absolutely no worries, Paige! I completely understand. Thanks for always being very kind 🙂

    1. You’re welcome! Take of Desperaux was such a good one, right?? And yes Harry Potter will always be a favorite❤️ Ah, you definitely need to read Carry On; I can never stop talking about how good it is. 😂

    1. Tale of Deserpaux was such a great story! It’s been a lot of years since I’ve read it, so I’d love to do a reread at some point too.

You’re welcome for the tag!! And thank you so much, Brittany; same to you! 😊💗

  1. Aw thank you so much for all of your kind words! You’re honestly (honestly= not just saying this because I feel like I have to) one of my favorite bloggers ❤️

As a kid I also loved The Tale of Deseperaux. I haven’t read A Wrinkle In Time, but I feel like I should because I’ve heard such great reviews.

Ok first thank you. I cannot tell you how happy I am that you feel the same way about All The Bright Places. I am so happy this book has helped so many people, but personally i think that the mental illnesses in this book was so misrepresented. Like you said, the fact that the author decided to “romanticize” depression, suicide, and anxiety just makes me feel slightly sick.

I also love watching movies. I always find it so amazing that these people are able to bring these stories to life. Especially the animated movies.

And don’t worry about being basic because if being basic means loving Harry Potter, count me in. I have always thought Voldemort was such an interesting character. I mean it’s always interesting to discover a villian’s backstory and what made them who they are.

Thank you again for your kind words! 😊 (and sorry for the supper long comment lol)

    1. You are one of my favorite bloggers too, Kat!! Thank you so much❤️

Tale of Desperaux was incredible!! I loved it so much. And yeah, A Wrinkle in Time is a lot of fun and you should read it if you ever get the chance. 🙂

Seriously though, All The Bright Places made me so mad and I’m glad you can relate. I can definitely appreciate it for helping people, but I just think the author handled the subject matter poorly. I just can’t believe how romanticized mental illness was in that book. Ugh.

You’re so right; it’s amazing watching stories come to life on the big screen and it will never fail to amaze me. And I agree, animated movies are SO good.

Ah YES to all the Harry Potter love❤️❤️

No worries about the long comment!! I enjoyed it and always love to hear from you 😃

  2. I’m pretty sure that Harry Potter was my favourite growing up as well, I couldn’t find any other books that were as good as them at the time and I ended up re-reading them so often haha.
Thank you so much for tagging me!!
