Hi you guys, and happy November! 🙂
This is one of my very favorite months and hopefully it will be filled with some of my very favorite reads as well. It’s looking promising, since my plans for the month include:
- Finishing up the Grishaverse books
- Reading a couple ARCs I’ve been anticipating
- Catching up on a bunch of Shadowhunters content
And I am so very excited about all of it! But, as always, this is still going to be a somewhat tentative TBR. There are some books on this list I’m pretty much set on reading this month, but others I’m still iffy about. I do have good feeling I’ll stick to this list though because I (kind of?) have a solid plan this time! So we’ll see. I say I’ll read all of these now, but things can always change, which is totally fine.
Okay let’s get to this TBR!
Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo
First order of business: finishing the Grisha trilogy! My current read, Ruin and Rising, is the last book in the series and I’m finding it hard to believe that this experience is nearly over. Even though it was a rough start, I’ve honestly grown unexpectedly fond of this story and these characters. It’s also been a perfect introduction to the world that’s in my next read as well, which I’m sure you can all guess is…
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
YES I am finally reading the very beloved Six of Crows this month. You guys, my excitement and anticipation for this book has been unreal. I’m already so in love with this world from reading the Grisha trilogy, and I’m about 100% sure these characters are going to be everything to me. I mean, the tagline on the cover calls them “six dangerous outcasts” and, like, I’m already sold. Honestly can’t wait for this book to take over my life. ❤
Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
And of course, as long as all goes according to plan, I’ll be concluding my Grishaverse journey with Crooked Kingdom. How am I already so incredibly sad about this experience coming to an end without having read Six of Crows yet? I’m not ready.
You Asked For Perfect by Laura Silverman
At some point during all of these fantasy reads, I’ll probably be in the mood to take a break with a contemporary. You Asked For Perfect has been one of my most highly anticipated reads for 2019 and I’m so thankful to have been approved for an ARC! It definitely sounds like such an important (and relatable) read that touches on academic pressure.
A Place For Wolves by Kosoko Jackson
One more ARC I have planned for this month and one I’ve been looking forward to a lot. Just based on the synopsis alone, it sounds like A Place for Wolves is going to become one of my favorites. I have a good feeling about this one. Plus, it’s #ownvoices!
Ghosts of the Shadow Market short stories by Cassandra Clare
Fact: I don’t know much about these other than the fact that Jem is involved, and that probably means I’m going to be an emotional wreck. I can’t believe I have yet to read any of these short stories, but I thought I’d save them for this month for when I’m frantically catching up on all the Shadowhunters content! Plus, since I haven’t read any Shadowhunters books for years, these will probably be a good way to re-immerse myself in this world (and also make me desperate to reread The Infernal Devices because… Jem).
Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

The reread of my dreams. Since it’s been so long since I’ve read Lady Midnight, I’m going to have to pick it up again before I continue with the rest of The Dark Artifices. But I have absolutely zero complaints about that. Emma Carstairs is truly an icon and I miss the Blackthorns with my whole heart and oh boy I cannot WAIT to experience this again.
Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare
My final read for the month will be none other than the presumably heartbreaking Lord of Shadows. This will be my very first read of this! And honestly I have no good excuses for why I haven’t read it yet other than I’m terrified for the cliffhanger and my fragile heart cannot take this pain Cassie Clare likes to put us through. This should put me right on schedule for when Queen of Air and Darkness comes out in early December!
And that’ll conclude this month’s TBR!
The only books I’m still a little iffy on are the ARCs because there’s a chance I might change those out for others I still need to get to. It just depends on release dates and what I’m in the mood for honestly. Either way, I’m looking forward to this TBR so very much and cannot wait for this month of reading. All the Grishaverse and Shadowhunters is making me SO EXCITED.
I hope you all have a wonderful November and happy reading! ❤
What ARCs do you have?! I want to get involved in that business but I’m so intimidated and idk where to start 😩
I just remembered that the day I finished SOC, my library was closed, so I drove 30 mins to another library that had it available JUST to be emotionally stable. And then I read the 562 page CK in like 20 hours. Happy memories :’) moral of the story, get them both at the same time.

Agh I have too many ARCs rn because of how many I requested when I first joined NetGalley (bad idea) but I am slowly catching up! I would start with NetGalley and Edelweiss. I actually prefer Edelweiss overall, but NetGalley is more user friendly and people seem to have better luck on there. But don’t be intimidated! It’s really not too bad or confusing.
Oh yeah no worries I am PREPARED. I made sure I had every Grishaverse book before I started reading bc I knew I would suffer if I didn’t have the next one available (esp CK) lol. That is some true dedication to drive 30 min to get it though!

Hmm thanks! Do you know how many friends/followers you had on GR and your blog when you started out on Netgalley/Edelweiss?
Well more accurately, I made my mom drive me 30 mins. She’s so supportive :’)

I think… maybe when I had like 300 GR friends and around 50-80 blog followers is when I really started using both sites? I can’t exactly remember though honestly😅 at the beginning I kind of just started requesting and seeing if anything would work and it was like half approvals & half declines!
Omg your mom is truly the best for driving you. That is very supportive :’)

Okay. Do you think I need to get my blog together, or is GR reviewing fine for getting ARCs? (HOW do I get my blog together honestly I’m such a mess)
I think she’s just glad that reading is such a safe teenage activity and wants to support me not partying and doing drugs 🙂

Ahhhh so many good books! And I completely get the feeling of not wanting it to be over before you’ve even started SoC… That was my exact mood right before I started them! And then I read the first page and didn’t look up from the series for two days. (I was VERY invested lol)
Also I still need to read the rest of the Ghosts of the Shadow Market short stories!! I read the first the three, and then I just… forgot about them. (The first three were awesome though! And I’m sure the rest will be too!)
And I to, need to reread Lady Midnight and Lord of Shadows… I don’t remember most of what happened… soooo…. I should REALLY get on that soon!

I love the Grishaverse trilogy as well as the Six of Crows duology – that one maybe more than the trilogy. They are just so awesome. Ocean’s Eleven fantasy style.
