Hi you guys! I am here with a very, very (very) late tag today. The very kind Brittany @ Brittany and Her Bookshelf nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award way back in August, and I am finally getting around to it now😅Brittany, I sincerely apologize for how late this is, but THANK YOU! I really appreciate this nomination, even though I’m the worst for only just now getting to it ahh ❤
^And if you guys don’t follow Brittany already, please do yourself a favor and check out her blog because she’s honestly one of the sweetest & most thoughtful bloggers you’ll ever meet!
Okay tag time!
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you by linking their blog.
2. Answer the questions.
3. Nominate 11 blogs with 11 questions.
4. List the rules as well as display the Sunshine Award Logo on your post.
What is your favorite book that you read in middle school/high school?
In middle school, my entire LIFE was basically dedicated to The Hunger Games. I went to the midnight premieres of the movies, rushed to Borders to buy Mockingjay the day it came out, and had regular arguments with my friends about Team Peeta vs Team Gale. Catching Fire was always the one I loved the most in the series, so it’s safe to say that was my favorite read from middle school. ❤
In high school, my sophomore year, I started reading the Shadowhunters books and that’s when I had the life-altering experience of reading Clockwork Princess for the first time. My undying love for this series, for this book, and for Will Herondale, has never left me over the years. By far my favorite read from high school, and honestly, could be my favorite book of all time if I had to pick one (but I never can lol).
Have you met anyone from the blogging community IRL? How was it?!
No but I WISH. I can just imagine how much fun it’d be to be around actual people who are just as in to reading as I am. All my IRL friends think I’m weird for talking about fictional characters all the time but you guys would get me!
Where do you get ideas for blog posts?
Inspiration from other bloggers or just things that pop in to my head. I have a note on my phone that I use to jot down anything I think of throughout the day, which I’ve found very helpful! Even if a lot of the ideas never make it in to actual posts, I try to write down whatever comes to mind just in case I can turn it in to something later.
What book do you always recommend to people?
Lately, it’s been this gem! Radio Silence is one of those books that I feel like can impact anyone in one way or another. It honestly changed my life and I always hope it’ll do the same for other readers, which is why I’ve been recommending it a lot lately. Plus, I just want everyone to meet Aled because he’s so PRECIOUS.
What’s a bookish unpopular opinion that you have?
I think dog-earing pages, writing in margins, breaking spines, etc. is all perfectly fine as long as it’s your own book! I never understood what’s upsetting about this. I don’t view it as ruining the book; it just means it’s well-loved.
What is one blogging tip that you used that really worked for you?
It might be simple and cheesy, but one tip that works is to just be yourself. Blogging became so much more enjoyable when I stopped stressing about how I was coming across and started being more genuine to who I am. Things start falling in to place once you’re not worrying about it and can be who you are!
Who is your favorite non-bookish blogger?
I don’t think I follow any! If you guys have any you recommend though, you should let me know for sure. I need to expand my horizons.
Would you have someone do a guest post on your blog?
Sure! I think guest posts are such a great way to bring more variety and other voices in to a blog.
Where is your favorite place to read?
In my bed, where I am currently about to read Six of Crows right after I finish this post. 🙂
How many books can you read at one time before it gets to be too much?
Truthfully, two is about as many as I can manage! And most of the time I just end up getting invested in one of the books so I’m not even actively reading the other until I’m done with that one. I’ve just always struggled to keep up with multiple at once.
Why did you decide to blog on WordPress?
Process of elimination, research, and just happening to like this platform. We used Blogger in my Creative Writing classes at one point, and I wasn’t a fan of it, so WordPress seemed like the next best option. I like it even though formatting can be super finicky sometimes (like it taking a twenty minutes just to get these suns in between the questions – WHY).
- Which book do you wish had a sequel?
- What’s one book you could you reread over and over again without ever getting tired of it?
- How has book blogging impacted your life as a reader?
- Which book(s) got you in to reading?
- Who are three of your all time favorite characters?
- Paperback or hardback?
- How many books do you have on your TBR?
- What’s a bookstore or library that’d you love to visit someday?
- What was your most recent 5 star read?
- Do you generally prefer reading series or stand-alones?
- If you were able to read one of your anticipated releases right now, which one would you choose?
I’m nominating some wonderful friends who couldn’t deserve this award more:
I’d love to see your answers, but of course, no pressure to do the tag!
Also, I’m only tagging 5 bloggers instead of 11 today because I have lots of tags coming up (including a couple more of this same one) since I’ve been so behind on them! Aghh I’m very sorry to those of you who have tagged me in things I haven’t done yet. You’re so appreciated and I’ll be working my way through them in the coming weeks. 🙂
Hope you all have a great weekend and that you’re reading something good !!
I’d love to know
What are some of your unpopular bookish opinions? What books are you constantly recommending to others? Are you able to read multiple books at once?!
